Nendaz is amongst some of the greatest raspberry producers in the Valais region, as well as producing apricots and honey.
The raspberry is undoubtedly the jewel in the range of products from the Nendaz territory. Its taste and colour makes it one of the regions delights and they are prepared in many different tasty ways.
The apricot, more than 30 different varieties
The apricot is found in a wide range of local country products, owing notably to the “Bienfaits de la Printze” association. It is consumed in its natural state but is also turned into strong alcohol, conserves, syrup and dried fruit or used within many different products as varied as their colours. A walk amongst the orchards always provides its share of marvels, as every season the trees assume different colours.
This nectar produced in Nendaz has a tasty and unique flavour due to the rich and varied flora of the commune. In Nendaz you will find more than 500 beehives up to the Alps where the honey has a stronger taste than that of the plain.
In the Valley of Nendaz, one can also find apples, pears, cherries, plums, prunes and strawberries. For some years now producers have also launched into the culture of medicinal and aromatic plants.
